Client Brief
Surrey County Council approached us to help with the design, build and supply of a learning centre for the local community in Redhill, Surrey. The building was being supplied for one of their clients, Surrey Choices, who specialise in improving independence, confidence and life skills for people with a range of disabilities.
The building needed to have teaching spaces along with a kitchen, IT room, toilets and sensory rooms.
The Results
From our vast pre-owned modular stock, we were able to select 10 steel modular frames. Working together with our CAD specialist and the client we were able to achieve a suitable design. Once the drawings had been agreed, the frames were stripped out and construction of the learning centre commenced at our site in Alton. We successfully delivered the building and finished the works on-site, leaving the client very happy with the finished project.
The Challenges
Due to the project being within a residential area, logistics surrounding the delivery and install of the site had to be carefully considered and planned, which also had to be sent to the Local Authority for their approval. Once on-site, we had to overcome the fact there was no power. To rectify this, we installed a temporary diesel generator which allowed us to charge tools and use machinery as required.
